It might be that you are experiencing difficulties in your life - anxiety, stress, difficulties sleeping. Or it might be that you have long standing fears (phobias) that are getting in the way of your life. You might be struggling with longstanding habits (smoking, overeating) and want to find a way to change this. Some people will also have experienced events in their life that have been traumatic and are causing problems for them a long time afterwards - feeling and acting as if those events are still happening.
It might be that you are feeling stuck not because you are struggling with any of the above, but feeling that you are not sure what you want from life and which direction to take.
I love working with people - its the part of my NHS job that I miss the most. In my experience, almost everyone I have worked with turns up to that first appointment feeling nervous and worrying about what is going to happen. For me the most important thing is to put people at ease, explain from the very beginning what working with me would involve, and checking every step of the way that you are comfortable with the plan we have come up with to help you.

If any of what you have read so far is something that you can relate to then I can help you find solutions that help you move forward within a few hour long sessions.
I have 35 years experience as a clinical psychologist in the NHS - 20 + years as a consultant clinical psychologist. I have recently retired from the NHS and have decided that I would like to continue to help people find ways to move forward, using my experience and skills gained over those years, but also with some added skills such as hypnotherapy and NLP (neurolinguistic programming) that enable me to help you move forward really quickly and without the need for lengthy treatment. I continue to be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and can also offer more traditional treatment approaches if that is something that you prefer.

If that is the case, then you can contact me by email and I will arrange a time and date to speak to you initially on the phone. I offer a free phone consultation that will give us a chance to talk about what you are looking for and then I can advise if I think I can help and what that might involve.
After a few sessions with Ali for dealing with my low mood, she suggested we try hypnotherapy - I had been suffering from depression and seemed unable to move forward with my life, and had lost my self confidence.
I trusted Ali and knew that she must think that hypnotherapy would help but although I felt positive I was still a little apprehensive. Ali completely put me at ease and thoroughly explained each stage of the process as the session progressed, I was relaxed throughout.
My quality of life has been so much improved since my sessions with Ali and I won't hesitate to contact her if I ever feel that things start to deteriorate.
